Right...

As you know Im getting a Celica... I've been told I have to sort out the number plate transfer for my cherised plate.

I have two options:

Retension:

Get a certificate saying I own the plate, and put it on at a later date.

Why?

- Its faster

- Its easier

- I can get some plates made up properly

Why Not?

- Its more expensive (£105 instead of £80)

- Have to change the Tax Disc... again.

- Everyone will know the age of the car (o no!)

- For my work Il have to get a new car security pass made up, annoy everyone for like a week or twos usage.

Transfer:

Get the plate on the car as soon as a drive it away.

Why?

- Jobs done

- Cheaper

Why not?

- Takes Longer

- The car needs to be taxed before I can do this, so I have to Tax the car, wait, transfer the plate wait (longer than if it were just retained).

- Il have to stick on my current plates which have holes drilled into them.

What would you do!

Im currently leaning towards retension. I have two weeks off end of the Month and can sort it all then.

I'd go for retension aswell, sounds like it'd be the best thing to do IMO.

I would go for RETENTION as the slight increase in cost is small beer compared to the cost of the car and you will be on the road sooner and as you said it is easier
