7a-fe - Which Cars Got This Enigne

Hello all,

a newbie on here, so I hope this is the right forum.

Basically, my partner's got a 1.8ST Celica with a 7A-FE engine. I want to get some 2nd hand spares for this engine from a scrap yard, and I'd like to know which cars to look out for?

I recall reading about the Carina, Corolla and also Rav4 getting this?

I'm after a new exhaust manifold and downpipe (the studs are broken on this one) but don't really want to pay Mr T prices for a new one for a 10 year old car.

From my own Toyota knowledge, I know the 3S-GTE MR2 manifolds are interchangable with the Celica ST205 ones, so I'm hoping the AT Celica's will be with other "A" chassis cars.

Cheers for any help

Ian

Hi, and welcome to TOC

The Celica shares the 7AFE with the Corolla GXI and the Carina E. Although the Carina has a slightly different version as it puts out less BHP than the Celica and Corolla....

Might be worth giving TCB as call, see if they can source you some bits ;)

Yep - a few use the 7afe but there is two versions - the standrad 7afe as used in the celica and corrolla and the lean burn 7afe as used in the carina. A lot of the bolt on parts differ on the lean burn

Cheers for the help.

I suppose it will always have 7AFE under the bonnet, but I just don't want to waste time if possible.

Thanks,

Ian
