Hi everyone. Have just picked up a rav4 with electric drivers seat. Overall I am very pleased with my new car and get plenty of admiring looks. I love it. This forum seems particularly interesting and one that I read often.

I am after some help in as much the drivers seat seems to have a large bulge in the middle of my back. Even with the lumber support fully retracted a point about 4 inches above that pushes out from the seat. It is very uncomfortable. I have compared it to a manual seat (which does not suffer this) and my local dealership said it would investigate. I have tried the seat in as many different positions as possible but the bulge is still there! I am looking out for a similar vehicle to mine to see if that suffers as well or does my seat have a problem? Does anyone have any ideas? :D

Hi. Sorry to hear of your problem. Whilst it's obviously subjective I cannot feel any bulge in my seat when the lumbar support is fully retracted (mine's a T180 which I guess uses the same seat mechanism as yours). It sounds as if the lumbar support adjustment may be somehow "out of sync", or sticking whne partially extended, perhaps. I assume you've given the area in question a good shove to see if that helps? If not, maybe worth a try? Hope that helps, good luck in getting it sorted.

Cheers, Tony

Can't say that iv'e noticed any problem with the drivers seat, it seems there must be a fault there, worth letting the dealer take a look

Thanks for the advice. Will try the 'shove' method. if that doesn't work I'll take it back to be looked at.
