Hey guys and girls, got my black 04 CTS a few months back with 13k on the clock and got a few mods sorted so thought it was about time i got some pics up the odd one with my girlfriends yaris t sport too. 17inch rota boosts with 215/40/17 toyo T1-S, Tein Basic Coilovers and K&N Typhoon cold air intake. I love the difference the K&N makes to the engine gives me goosebumps still lol. Absolutely love this car. :D

great car, but not so keen on the wheels. think with white wheels it would look the bomb. Just my 2p Worth.

if you've stiffened up the front, and rear, then you will find that there is less weight transfer when braking so your rear brakes will do more work than they did before, might want to consider a brake upgrade.

looks really nice ( so does the yellow car in the reflection - Mk2 Escort with group 4 arches? )

I'm always surprised by how small 17s look on the 'rolla. Really subtle and nice. GWF.

they'll be doing the same amount of work - only difference is that they could do more work (oh dear!!) without the tyres locking up because theres more grip @ the rear, and less weight-transfer.

but you have ABS for this...

and not much point if he's only fitted an air filter though

so overall I dont agree :P

Nice looking 'rolla there.. very nice indeed. Yaris aint bad too ;-) but I maybe a bit biased there hehe :P

@snellgrove, my answer is in two forms the engineering answer and then the practical one. first up the engineering answer

braking force = coefficient of friction x weight over wheels

or in engineering speak F=mu x R

if there is more weight over the rear wheels (ie less weight transfer), then the braking force must increase as the coefficient of friction is constant.

now the practical answer.

if you stiffen up the car, the car will pitch and dive less due to reduced weight transfer, if the car stops in the same amount of distance and there is less weight over the front wheels, the rears WILL do more of the work.
