Headlight Bulb Change...

Hi people,

My neighbour has a gen7 Celica, and because my car is a Toyota she thinks I should know how to change her headlight bulb (offside).

I have not yet lifted the bonnet to look, but she tells me it is not like her fiesta was! She says it looks sealed from the rear.

Any help much appreciated guys and gals.

Thanks in advance.

AFAIK they`re the same as most other cars. Remove plug. Remove rubber boot. Undo clip and replace. I think.

Make sure she's not just after a cop of ya ***** as you bend over to change the bulb!!

And remember, always change bulbs in pairs or you'll be back next week to get the other cheek pinched!

Oh, you'll have some fun with this one! Its not as easy as 'other cars'...

All the plastic covering needs to come out (depending on which side it is) before you can get anywhere close to where the back of the bulb is. Even then its a 'mare to get out (although the usual unplug plug, remove rubber grommet, etc applies), and even worse to get a new one in. Before you set about putting the new one in, make sure you remove the adaptor from the old bulb and put it on the new one (I had a rather embarrasing time in Halfrauds car park with that one first time!), and when you are putting it back in, make sure there's something soft and bouncy underneath it as I guarentee you'll drop it in the engine bay at least once...

Good luck, get a cuppa, and be prepared to be there 20 mins per bulb!
