Reprograming Key

Can any of you guys and galls help me. The remote key fob on our 03 plate D4D Rav seems to be working with a mind of its own. One minute it will open the doors, next minute nothing. We tried our new set of keys that had never been used from new and these do the same. I did a search for reprograming the key but most of the write ups seem to be for the older shape of Rav.I would be gratefull if anybody has the information they could post a fix for me.

These seem to be the instructions for the older model of Rav4. In one of the replys it states the newer models have a sequence of opening doors and playing with the ignition to recode the key. Any more ideas?
