Knock Knock!

No Joke Gettin a really bad knock from the front left wheel area... the superstrut already slightly knocks but this is a much worse sound, its only from the front left any ideas? I not riskin driving it as it sounds so bad... :( Thanks

Is it constantly knocking or just when you do a certain thing?

Not much to go on, need to have a look, something to do with the driveshaft ?

It just knocks when i go over some rough roads or bumps.. also when the steering is on full lock.

the ss knock finally develops into a loud clunk - yours is possibly at deaths door

with knocks though it could be numerous things as the ss set is complex.

it may even be the metal dowl in the banana arm that's shot

Is it still ok to drive it?... Thought it might be superstrut related as the cars on 85k now should it be changed by now? ive replaced the bottom strut on the left knocking side, not touched the right side yet, think ill change the top strut see if that helps? Machanic looking at it on monday :)

Ok found the problem is the superstrut... theres loads of play in this bit here;-

Ive replaced the lower strut on this side already, what is this part called? wheres the best place to order these. thanks ;)

you really should replace the fig 8 with the lower arm. while its in bits , if you did replace the lower arm you need the fig 8 arm , best place is TCB here - http://www.tcbparts.co.uk/

Thanks for that booster Is it best to just get the fig 8 or both the long arm connecting to it?

what part did you change , if you didnt replace the lower arm then yes put new arm with new fig 8 , as they wear away together so while its in bits do both , saves 2 lots of labour charges and 2 lots of faffing about.
