Is This Good Value ?

Im contemplating a Rav for the first time, and have been offered the following by a dealer

2.0 d4d XTR with climate control, cruise control, tinted windows, cd players, sunroof etc.

It's for sale for £16595 and has only done 5000 miles. Registered in July 2005

Does this sound a good deal, and are there things I should be looking for. I believe it was used as a courtesy vehicle, however my experience with other cars of similar useage was that annual mileage was usually up around 10,000

Hi bluewotsit

Are you part exchanging a car in the deal ? If not , I would think that you would be better off buying a new model 06 XT3 for an extra £1000 on an internet website like drivetbedeal . This is what I did back in Sept 05 when I bought a new 55 plate 2.0 d4d XTR with climate control, cruise control, tinted windows, cd players, sunroof etc. for £16950 . I have done 9000 miles since then with no problems.Due for its first service next month. Also when you buy this way you get 12 months tax and a year's RAC membership free.

If you have a part exchange you could sell it private or at an Auction which is what I did but my old car was only worth a grand .

Any further questions about the XTR please do not hesitate to ask

Regards

Hi there

Thanks for that - yes we are looking to part ex a Freelander - need to do that way as finances dictate thats the only viable option - the p/x price quoted was very fair as well

I wonder if dealers take any notice for competitive pricing as on the website you mentioned ?

cheers

If your happy with the PX quote they've given you on a freelander I would go for it, I work in the trade and freelander prices atm are awful :D

Ive seen a variance of £4500 on part ex values offered to us between Toyota and LR dealers against cars we have looked at - it all seems to be a big game to them
