Alarm Central Locking?

Hi, I have a Gen 7 year 2000 Celica and have recently started having alarm problems/locking problems.

I have tried both Keys (one is very rarely used).

When I try to unlock the car (with remote) nothing happens and when i use the key to unlock the door the alarm goes off, I can even start the car and move it with the alarm sounding!

Is there a way I can unlock the car and turn the alarm off so that i can safely drive it without going deaf?

Other times the remote locking works fine!!!

Today i couldnt remote unlock so i used the key but even though the engine was running tha alarm was sounding - i turned the car off, had a cup of tea and after 20 mins the remote worked and i could go to work.....in work i tested it many times and it worked.

Any ideas please?

When the alarm is active it will always go off if you open the car without de-activating it first.

Reasons, could be the Battery in your keys, could be the intense heat getting in the way of the radio signals. Try parking somewhere cool for a while, and trying again...

I have exactly the same problem. I have replaced the batteries in both key fobs but still not able to unlock on the remote control. Any other ideas?

Ditto with my Gen 6. Giving up and buying a Toad or similar when I start my job.

Thanks for the replies.......i have replaced the batteries and the car is parked in a cool spot....the problem was also in the morning and only outside my house!!!!!

My wife has a VW Golf and the same thing has happened to her of late, so i guess there must be something in the area messing the signal up. Anyway the problem has gone away now...but the weather has changed and it isnt as hot as it has been.

No real answer to what the problem was though.
