looks like yaris mk.2 on steroids...hope it will look better in real life...

I think it looks pretty cool and sporty .... hopefully it wont be as tacky on the inside as the new yaris :!Removed!:

the spy pic's of the black corolla aint the new corolla, when Honda launched the new civic this year, toyota sent its designer's back to the drawing board for a re-design of the corolla as it looked bland compared to the Civic, the pictures that are above are of the new/scrapped design corolla, if you get what i mean!

Maybe we all drives Corona in the future?

whats dual vvti?

Dunno but take it with a pinch of salt until toyota announces it.

IMHO its about time toyota added a hi-spec petrol engine to its corolla and avensis range. The D-CAT T180 on the avensis is lush for a hi-powered diesel, they just need one for the new corolla and a better T-SPORT petrol.

Toyota do a great job of keeping it simple unlike audi with there rediculous amount of a options and trims; but they are always lacking 1 hi-powered model for petrol and diesel from both ranges.

But....

Take a look here : http://www.toyota.co.jp/en/news/06/0613.html

And a 3.0L corolla, i have doubts about that. I owned a 1.8L supercharged compressor and the power that it managed to muster was still too much for the chasis. I think the paper toyota produced was outlining their future engine development. That 3.0L is more likely to be for the Landcruiser or equiv. The corolla would have to have a bonnet the size of a ferari to accomadate 1.6L to 3.0L engines. ;)

I am SSSssssooooo having that - looks lush :drool:

Love the fog lights (if that's what they are) and I like the way they have knicked the exhausts of the civic :P

Is it me or do new cars lack character or any kind of sporty look?

Dont worry thats just a concept i highly doubt it will end up that radical. Its a big move for toyota, they have to get it right to maintain the best selling car worldwide crown.

It does look kinda nice tho, altho slightly radical.

Possibly will look more like this : http://thehollywoodextra.blogspot.com/2006...8481258881.html

http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3545/55.../corolla1.0.jpg]http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3545/55.../corolla1.0.jpg

http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3545/55.../corolla2.1.jpg]http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3545/55.../corolla2.1.jpg

and

http://www.autoextrem.de/attachment,s=0f0f...entid-25800.htm

Judging by those euro pics it looks like they maintained the look and feel of the corolla we currently know with a few more curves and sweeps in the styling and design. Safe move more than anything.

Take it with a pinch of salt tho, nothing to say its the final design. The last link looks more like a new yaris though. I'd expect the corolla to look similar but bigger and more sporty.

It says something about a CVT due this year too. Haven't heard anything about that ... if it's any good it might make a nice response to Honda's six-speed box on all Civics.

Paul.

My previous car was a CVT, I was always impressed with its performance.

Saw a photo of the T-Sport in this weeks Auto Express, looks like a bigger version of the Yaris with an Audi A6/Rover 75 V8 grill. Looks really nice from the front.

However, one thing, Toyota are apparently going to retire the Corolla name in Europe. After 40 years, it was decided that the new car shall have a freash new image. The new name has yet to be disclosed.
