Good Oil For 4a Ge Engine?

Can anyone recommend a good oil for my 4A GE 20 Valve? I was thinking of using a fully synthetic oil but I am not sure of the oil that was used before. I want something that can look after my pistons at a high engine speeds and temperatures. It would be beneficial if it didn't break down too quickly also.

5W 40 or 10W 40(SEMI) seems to be fairly standard but I was hoping someone can shed a little light on this for me?

the norm in the 4AGE is to use a synthetic oil such as Mobil1, 10w 50 although mineral oils work well e.g. Quaker State , what's important is to regularly check your dipstick cause in my experience the Synthetic oil experiences some loss between changes so a topup may be necessary
