Hi,

I noticed that when opening both rear doors there is a black grommet covering a very round hole about 20mm diameter. Also the front passenger has a sticker like thing covering what I assume is the hole for the passenger door light switch. Does anyone know if the cabling is there? Sort of you just plonk in the switches and bob's your uncle? Or maybe someone has made the plunge already to install the switch/es?

It's a bit awkward trying to show off your spanking new red car and the passenger door does not switch on the light!

the holes are made during manufacture so that the main parts on the car ccan either be made for whatever side of the road the car is designed to go on. But you would have to wire in your own switches in order for the light to work.

I have fitted a pillar switch to operate the interior light on tha passenger door. The way I did it, not sure if it's the correct way, but it works is as follows

• I ordered a pillar switch from MrT cost around £10. I was surprised it didn't come with a bolt to attach to the door pillar so you will need to order one of these too!

• I then ran a single cable from the courtesy light above the roof liner and down the door pillar. You also need connectors to attach the cable to the switch.

• Remember the cable you are running is effectively an earth wire and you need to pull out the courtesy light unit and identify which of the three wires to connect to, one is the 'live' two others are earth one for the pillar switch and the other the switch on the unit.

• You need to carefuly pull back some of the rubber door seal and the plastic trim on the door panel, fiddly but comes away with care in order to run the cable.

• Remember the pillar switch makes the connection to earth so only works when its in screwed into the pillar.

Good luck

As for lighting the boot a more difficult problem I haven't yet solved - has anyone else?

piggy back of your new switch and custom make another switch to fit the boot.

You'd think that when they produce the wire loom they would produce just one and fit it to all cars. Then they just omit the switches but the cables are there. Do the 107 and C1 come fitted the same way as the Aygo? Read in a post on this forum that the rev counter from Peugeot is way cheaper than from Toyota. Why is that I do not know but I have read elsewhere that the majority of the design and engine is Toyota and Peugeot was left with parts procurement. That's why the wipers, lights, the keys etc are all Valeo.
