New Sr

Hi all,

My first post on the site - I've just ordered a Corolla SR. The 2.0 litre diesel engine. Cant wait - though I'll have to for 5-6 weeks. Ordered it in the Granite colour - wasnt keen on the silver or blue!

I've currently got a 2003 Corolla T-Sport. Scarily quick car, but just a tad too noisey and thirsty for my liking.

Before the T-Sport I had a Gen7 Celica 140bhp which I modded with a Wing West kit, TTE springs, roof spoiler, tints etc...

I may just have to post some pics of the Celica, and my current Corolla for you all...

My T-Sport has the built in SatNav which I'm obviously loosing - can anyone recommend the best place to purchase either a Tom Tom or NavMan?

Cheers

Welcome to the Club  !

You could take the satnav out and flog it on eBay or stick it in your new car ;) !

The 2.0L diesel is a good engine expect around 500 miles a tank

You are getting practical :P , I remember when you were a member of TOC! and it was a nice G7  .

How did you find the CTS compared with the Celica, I might be getting a CTS or a T Sport celica when my insurance company payout  or a Type R

I'm also a newbie, but been a reader for many a year. Just in the process of selling my 52 plate T3 for a new SR. The bright balearic blue is out (too bright, and also a 8 week lead time at the moment), but not sure between silver or granite. Plan to finalise everything on Sunday, and then wait til the 1st September for delivey!

My dealer claims they can get both those colours within a week, but can just imagine them saying on Sunday, oh, there's now a 10 week wait on them!

  • 2 weeks later...

Picked up my SR yesterday - lovely mota. The granite looks awesome - has a much more agressive sportier look to my old CTS.

Just got to get used to driving it differently what with it being diesel.

Pics to follow.

Came home from work tonight to find a letter from Dingles detailing my plate and confirming delivery of my SR on the 1st September. Now only 2 weeks away to collection. My T3 Corolla's been a good servant for the last 4 years, but looking forward to the new motor. Also pleased as insurance only an extra £30 for the remaining 10 months of my premium. Was expecting a bigger hike in price.

Fourteen days and counting...!!!

totally agree the granite does look amazing (especially with the tinted windows), also the 2.0 diesel is a great engine economical and fast, great for suprising novas.

on the satnav, it wouldnt be difficult to swap the unit from the cts with the one from the sr, should be a straight swap apart from the nav aerial, are you part exing or selling privately
