my grandma does 7.5 with TC turned on ;-)

I go 6.5

Hey Yary$ is that in a Yaris? or does ya Grandma really drive a CTS?

LOL

Hey guys am not seeing how the corolla can only hit 61 MPH in second gear. I swear i've topped out at 65. Will test this theory out in the morning. Though its gonna screw up my 31.5 Mpg average which i've acummulated over the last 60 miles but hey its all in the name of science. (Plus it gives me an excuse to give it some beans)

sorry just updated my profile.I drive CTS and I do 6.3 6.5 to 100km/h. its practice man..in my club there many people who dont know how to switch the 2nd gear so they can land on LIFT if can do this you will have 7secs...mine is quicker thx to KN

Hi all,

I know my late 2005 model CTS tops out in second at 65mph.

I know the speedo is a bit overestimated but i did have a mates gps and palm top pc in the car a few months ago. It was saying 2-3 mph slower than the speedo reading at the limit of second.

Thats why im convinced its the 7.2 time not the 8.4 as written in most mags. But you do obviously need to turn the TC off to get this.

I actually checked with the Toyota dealer I bought the car off, he confirmed that it does do 7.2.

Not surprisingly this is exactly the same as the Celica which is running the same engine, same cam profiles and same gearing :D

they just say 8.4 everywhere because thats about all youll get with the traction control on. And as the Celica doesnt have TC its sprint time is a bit quicker at 7.2 - same as CTS with the TC turned off!

Or maybe the toyota rep fed me a cart load - if so please let me know so i can bring it to his attention with my foot.
