Noise

I have a 53 reg Corolla 1.4 T3 5dr, but when turning the wheel left to right or vice versa at slow speed, there is a grating/chafing noise coming from the engine/suspension area. I am not using full lock when it occurs and it does not always happen but can occur when the engine is cold or hot - any ideas as car warranty is due to expire soon - so far dealer can't find anything!!

Surely it's CV joints!? But then, any garage would be able to tell you if it was that straight away!

I had a similar noise in my Yaris recently - a stone was stuck round the heat shield causing a grinding noise when I turned the wheel.
