1994 Rav4 With 1.6l Engine

Hello all,

I am new here and looking to buy an old RAV4.

Saw an adv. on local news paper 1994 1.6l petro engine.

I have searched everywhere online but can't find any information.

From what I can gather it is a Japanese import.

Would anyone know what kind of engine it is and will it be hard to find spare part?

If I go visit the car what should I check to know what engine it is?

Thanks very much.

Hi and welcome to the club!

The first thing I would check is if its actually 4wd or only 2wd, as I have a sneaking suspicion that this will be the case. Of course, that may not matter to you...

Iirc, they did (briefly) sell a 2wd 1.8 Rav in swb only form, so it may be one of those.

I'm sure someone who knows their Ravs better than me will be able to give you more info.

Good luck,

Alan

I spotted a RAV4 on eBay the other month and they claimed that was a rare 1.6 import model ,but as GT4 BOOSTER has said above ,Toyota never made a 1.6 RAV4 :( . so the seller is either mistaken or misleading people  .

Plus it would be awfull with a 1.6 litre engine! it would really struggle to pull the car!
