If you're thinking of putting a "secret switch" on the circuit, then please use wire and switch of the correct current rating. :)

I have a toad ai606 with two immobiliser circuits, maybe one for ignition low tension side and one for starter circuit

my toad was fitted with most wires found by the drivers right foot behind the foot well panel

if anyone else wants to fit a toad to replace factory alarm I did mine (except immobiliser)

behind passenger footwell cover, I removed old alarm control box behind radio and followed wiring harness to footwell where I disconnected it and connected new cables

I'm very interested it fitting a Toad or similar myself. Is it straight forward? are the instructions clear enough? and is it simple to connect the central locking motors?

the instructions I got were dead simple to follow, the remote locks the car sets the alarm and can even shut the windows or sunroof,it also includes ultrasonics and I paid a little extra for a dual stage shock sensor then fitted a pager, the alarm was just over one hundred pounds the pager about thirty, all from Pecision Alarms on e-bay

Bit delayed, didn't realise you'd replied. Are you kidding!? You got all that for little over £100? Including window closure? Did the instructions help out with power door locking wiring etc. I tried to fit one on my previous car but had trouble with that bit.

Also, I have ripped out the stock alarm and discovered that although faulty, the immobiliser still works and there is a wiring loom behind the LHS passenger footwell trim that I think is a convenient immobilising point. (I assume wiring goes from here to the ignition barrel and back again. The alarm ECU joins the circuit and acts as the switch?) Can anyone confirm this? and even better tell me exactly which colour wire connects to which part of the ignition. To confuse matters I think it is dual circuit immobilistation with LT ignition and ignition barrel. If anyone knows this then a new alarm could potentially be plugged straight into this loom very neatly and professionally.

Cheers,

Ben

been away for a bit,Precision Alarms Limited are selling,on e-bay,Toad Ai606 cat 1 alarms at 109.99.I'm a sparky myself so maybe I found their instructions easy but, they do tell you how to connect to any possible central locking or they supply and fit for 274.99

ps. I'm not sure but at the moment I can't find any immobiliser wiring on my 1997 1.8 st
