My car was in toyota for is 3rd year service with about 21000 on clock when they gave me back the car told me i had a oil leak and the oil sensor has come off and cant put back in,i couldn't believe what i was hearing then i ask where is the oil leaking from ?,i was told around the sump and then i said to them if is leaking oil around the sump wouldn't i see it on the floor? and then they said " yes you would " i then told them my car park in my garage over night for the last three year's i had the car and i did not see any oil leak at all ,then another service person start opening there mouth and said to me your car also low on oil ,i couldn't believe the rubbish i am hearing,i then told them yesturday (sunday) i wash the car and also gave my car a good check before coming in today for a service and i have check the dip stick and the oil level it was spot on,at this point they have nothing to say, then i ask them how can the oil sensor come out of is place? can it come off during driving ? they think it was knock off by somebody who has work near that area, then i told them the only people who work on my car were toyota dealer's then they told me to go sorted out with the dealer who service my car last like 1 year ago, once again i couldn't believe what i was hearing so i said to them i will contact toyota GB about this situration which i did and now toyota GB are trying to fixed these two problem which i never had before i gone in for this service but still havn't got back to me yet.

you pay them to service the car and what do you get in return a damage car and looking at them trying to lie about it make me sick.

IF YOUR CAR IS OUT OF WARRENTY DONT USE THEM FOR SERVICE !, YOU JUST MIGHT BE PAYING MUCH MORE THEN YOU THINK.

£550 :o please dont do it! ,my case and other have proof toyota dealer's dont look after your car at all you are just another meat to them and you will find during your warrenty period they tell you everything on your car is great and even you are not happy about something they'll tell you the problem you have is normal which alot of you cts owner knows what i am saying here, i find soon as you out of warrenty they seen to find fault's of all kind and everything you are not happy with become a problem all the sudden and need to be fixed with your own money .

Here is a update on my case toyota GB are willing to fixed the oil sensor but fixing the oil leak doesn't look good, they said i was out of warrenty by 8 days.

my situration is very strange the dealer say i have a oil leak but i dont have any oil leaking on my garage floor, so i said to toyota GB IF there really is a oil leak how the hell would i know during my warranty period when the dip stick always show it is spot on ?,if is not leaking on the floor i would never know as i dont have a ramp at my house to look under the car everyday and yes i was 7 day's out of warrenty when the car went in for the service i really didn't think there is a problem otherwise i would of book in to have it repaired before my warrenty run's out ,does toyota GB expect people to take the car in every week for check up ? and IF there is a oil leak around the sump it would of be leaking during the warranty period,

and other thing why did the dealership not phone me before carry out the service if i had a oil leak, what is the point changing the oil when there is a leak ? they ring me at 5.30pm to tell me they discover a problem the car has a oil leak round the sump, maybe they are the one course the car to have a leak around the sump and damage the oil sensor's , before they carry out the service surly they would know the car has oil leaking , i am sure most honest dealer's would of let me know before they carry out the service maybe the delaer are trying it on or trying to hide something who know's unless toyota GB send someone to check out my car themself.

my car is 3 years and 1 month old about 21000 miles on the clock and has been service by toyota dealership every year in the last 3 year's and overall condidion is good to exellect , it is low mileage and park in my garage everyday and night.

just incase anyone wondering why leave at the last minute to book up a service because last year to this service day it has only cover 6,000 miles and there wasn't any leaking before i took the car in so i wanted leave it as late as possible and from the last serivce till this current service hasn't been a year.

also i have another problem going back to last year to this day which it really hasn't been reslove and the way i was mess about by toyota dealer's and Toyota GB for a whole year is going to shock you all, i have a independent engineer's as proof of what has happen to my car and he himself was shock about the way toyota dealership handle my problem's with the car,for example: blame anyone but themself's totaly unbelieveable but i will wait untill i totaly have nothing to do with any toyota delaer's and toyota GB anymore for this to come out in the open.

NOW IS THIS THE KIND OF COMPANY YOU WANT TO GIVE ANOTHER £550 TO and not to mention the service cost and you will be stuck using these dishonest toyota delaership's or another example if you have a problem with your car and they wont cover under warrenty :

(wear or tear or pot hole's on the road, too much mileage seens to be the one they like to use to get out of warrenty's )

and you'll have to pay for the repaired cost yourself or if you dont you can play the long waiting game with toyota GB which you dont know the outcome and how long it will take, in the end of the day YOU are the one without a car to use during the time you are fighting for your warrenty and only then you will find you have wasted £550 not to mention the expensive service cost for that 2 year's and trust me it wont be cheap to service during these 2 year's which a alot of parts doesn't need to replace if you dont drive high mileage but if you do high mileage then yes it will need to be replace .

there is no point taking the car in toyota delaership for service when is out of warranty if you do you are a sitting duck for them ,we best save some money and take our car to local friendly garage and aslong the recipe are keep of whats been done i am sure it wont affect the value of the car which is what i am going to do but i will only ask them for while i wait oil change that way i know it'll be same condition when it went in.

now i have wrote this information for you all to read i will not let my car out of my sight,i will sit there and watch them reapired the car it is so sad for me to do this but it has come down to this i just dont trust any toyota dealership and i dont want anymore suprise damage on the car.

bert is only a oil sensor unless i am on very low oil (which that would never happen i alway check the oil it only take 1 minute to do) it really doesn't do much hence why toyota GB will fixed that but not the leak (if i got one) .

Acidman havn't seen you for age's how you been ?,hows the car ? any upgrade lately ?,listen i have fitted the facelift side skirts i took a gamble and it was tricky to fit and i find the side skirts are longer by about 4-6mm at the rear, then i went in toyota and have a look why and find all the facelift are like that too :D :D :D but it did make the side of the car look good ,now i just need to change the front and rear bumper which you should know what i am going for remember we talk about it before:D :D :D :D

when the garage said you have an oil leak to what amount is it leaking i think you should get that verifyed.at the end of the day most cars have an oil leak somewear it is just wether it is enough of oil leak to warrant repairing it.it may be very very small that doesnt need repairing as you have not seen any leaks.get a second opinion if oil switch is leaking buy one and get a local garage to fit it its not a big job by any means and was probably damaged while changing oil and filter.hope that helps your dilemer

@T128

I'm fine , my car also ;)

I didn't change anything the past months. I was considering to buy buy the TTE- s/c kit. But with more horsepower. But therefore you must change a few things and that isn't be worth it. ( And I don't want to drive to Switzerland to build in the Bemani-compressor :D )

It's new to my that the facelift is a little bit longer at the side. Strange !

The rear- and front-skirt are easily to change (... if you know where all the screws are hidden :D )

Can you post some pictures of your new sideskirts and how you solve the problem. I'm interesting in it.

yes of course i can send you photo's of the skirt's fitted and also other item's i've added since you last seen and how i over come the problem :D :D :D

i cant wait till i am rid of Toyota dealer's and Toyota GB then i will post pic's on the forum but untill then i have to send photo to you direct,i will send the photo's to the email address on your website. :)

My CTS is due her 3 year/30k service soon. Local Toyota dealer were quoting 200 quid plus for this service so I been shopping around. I just found Halfords/AA do a full "manufacturers" service that's equivalent (or better) than Toyota for 130 quid all in.

I was told by one local garage that as long as the parts are genuine Toyota and the service is done to Toyota spec then you can keep your warranty and FTSH status - you don't need to always go back to a Toyota dealer every time.

By the way, I've decided to keep my CTS - I couldn't find anything else I liked and the partex value on the CTS is just an insult.

EDIT: also, a had a bad experience with a local Toyota dealer a few years back while they were servicing my old MR2. They damaged one of the alloys while they were taking the wheel off to inspect the brakes. After a lot of arguments, raising it with Toyota Customer Services, etc. they finally agreed to pay for that wheel to be repaired and refurbished (and I had to pay for the other three wheels to be refurbed too so they matched) - it was annoying to have that "you must have done that damage yourself" attitude from them. I didn't even get an apology.

hey Fmrl,

i feel same as you just cant let the corolla go because of the sell value is at,in the end of the day the cts isn't such a bad car's it is TOYOTA DEALER'S they are killing the cts they just dont know how to get the car running right or repaired them.

out of all of my bad experience with toyota dealer's i too didn't get one apology from any of them,if they cant blame the customer's they always blame "toyota "there favorite line are "well we didn't make the car we just sell it " now are these the kind of dealer's you can put your trust in.

latest update once again toyota GB tells me they will ask dealer to fixed car for me free of charge but i am not going to bet on it, they already change there mind 5 time's already from july this year to now .

I went for a few test drives in other makes but every time I got back in the CTS I just felt that it was a better car. I decided that the only car I wanted would have been something like an old shape Celica GT4 or MR2 coupe but good examples of those are hard to come by these days.

All I could suggest is that you mention to Toyota GB that you're a member of a few online Toyota related forums and your problems are being discussed on there. Also, try to get as much down in writing as possible.

I had a problem with another Toyota dealer about 8 years ago (bought a car and paid extra for a new CD player, then discovered that the CD player was a broken/reconditioned unit). I didn't get anywhere with the sales people so I ended up writing letters to the manager of the dealership, sending copies to Toyota GB, forwarded copies of the dealer responses, kicked up a right stink about it, etc. Eventually it got sorted out and got some of the money refunded but I didn't go back to that dealer again.

Some Toyota dealers are okay though, I think it's just a franchise problem.

Slightly diffrent guys but i have to say this, i have the four, my gf has a corsa 1.6 16v sport, now before you all say eeew vauxhall im not comparing the cars, but the dealers, now thats anothother story. Two dealers local to myself, 1 mr T, 1 mr V, went to mr T the other day to get a price on a rear diff mount for the four, "q" is it uk or import ?? import, "we dont want to know !!!", umm ok well its uk then as thay are the same, mr T looks on the computer and comes up with "there is no diff mount" ! i asked what holds the diff in place then, he answers how should i know im not a mechanic ! i tell him there is a mount and lied and said it was a mr T mechanic that told me it needs replacing, he answers me back in a polite we saying "if i say there isnt 1 then there isnt and procedes to serve the next customer !! i just walk out in amazment. Now mr V who is not far away i have been to a few times for stuff for my gf's corsa and all i can say is wow, thay are the most helpfull bunch of guys you could ever want to meet, go out of their way to help you. Now i know this is not a true reflection off the dealers, only the people who work there but it does show me that the manegment in these 2 dealers must vet their employee's slightly better as the mr T guy just didnt give a *****.

most of the toyota dealer's ARE the dealer 's use to run Ford,Peugeot,Renault back in the early 90's thats why they are use to being rude to customer's, since they have now gave these car company's such a bad name for customer serivce's they need to move on ,since toyota did have a good reputation and are so desperately want to find dealer's to increase status in the UK toyota dont care how these crap dealer's running thing at all aslong they are making money from them, and most of these toyota dealer's desk worker's who know f all about anything only good at lieing are from Ford,Peugeot, renault (do watch out for the female one's they are real dragon's) so you should expect them to be rude to you they are use to doing that they know they will get away with it,my advise's is if you know there might be a problem with toyota dealer's just turn your mobile phone on before you go in and record them doing it then watch there face's when you make a complaint :D .

if you ever wonder where are the friendly toyota dealer's sale worker's form the 80s to 90's went the answer is they have either retired or have move on elsewhere because few year's back toyota was chucking out dealership's who wasn't a big franchise so all the small potato's dealer's has to go.

after long time dealing with toyota GB they finally had a right go at the toyota dealership who serivce my car, then the toyota dealership ring me are now saying they have look into the matter further and find there is nothing wrong and nothing need to be repaired so i took the car back to my local toyota dealership where i purchase the car from, they and i both had a look and totaly agree nothing wrong with the oil switch what so ever,as for the oil leak there were tiny amount of oil around the seal but not leaking at all and nothing like what i was told from that dishonest toyota delaership, they said and written down i was leaking oil and the car went in serivce low on oil and the oil switch has been temper with and now out of is place cannot put back in which was all a big lie.

make sure you check your car before it goes in toyota for a serivce there are toyota dealership out there trying it on specily when they know you are out of warrenty.

i will name and shame that dealership once i can be bother to go get the money back from the air filter they left on the back seat of my car and charge me for which toyota GB wasn't to happy about either.
