After New Exhaust

Right, well my exhaust is blowing and doing my head in and I know that Toyota wont do a warranty repair on it so looks like i will have to fork out.

No point in gettting something standard so after a performance system Cat back. Now think is i dont want something loud at all. I would like it to have the ability to breath better but not stupid loud. It would be nice for it to make a nice rasp/roar after like 6k or whatever, but nothing that dones.

Does anyone have any recomendations?

Shane

It wil cost you upto £600.

£600 is a lot of money for what it is imo. Im paying £650 for a specialist 1 off custom exhaust which will be 3" all the way throught. not just cat back either... its from the turbo back.

It will be made on my car and take 2 days to make and fit.

Just think im getting a lot more for my money.

I was just going to post the link. It shows the TRD gives best gains, but also isn't much louder. The Blitz is alot louder, otherwise I was considering that.

If you're after the TRD one, fensport do them for £500.

Not to everyone's liking, I know, but have you looked at the TTE one as well? I've heard a few reports that they ain't too shabby!

Plus VAT, Plus Delivery Less 10% if your Gold!

I hate sites that dont include the VAT, gives a false impression.

i will say it again... custom exhaust... then you can have it built to do/sound how YOU want it

normally the only down side to a custom exhaust is the price... but if your looking at spending over £500 on an off the shelf exhaust :!Removed!: imo its overpriced... but i have been in a gen7 with a trd exhaust and it does sound nice.

Only problem I have with custom exhausts are they are made 'quickly' and despite being made to your spec, they apparently never produce the gains you could get from a designed and developed system.

I am always tempted to go down to Infinity Exhausts and get a system made up for £300-£400 Cat Back... but I dont know if I want too. Somethings I just like a brand on, true custom sounds good but I still dont know.

May look into it...

I wish... its a 2-3 day job to make and fit mine

Although im not having an exhaust to try and increase power.. im having it because i need it to handle the power :P aint gonna push 420bhp through the standard pipe

No, I didn't mean like that. Just most aftermarket exhausts are designed, made, tested, re-worked, re-tested, prototyped and eventually they find the optimum design. Custom they just design and make, and you may not release your cars full potential.

Thats my thoughts anyway.

I never realised (having never brought from them). I'll bare that in mind!

Sounds a bit like this VROOM!

That got a lovely burble to it! Very nice...

Fair point. Kinda agree here. I know of a guy who spent about 400 on his custom jobby for a Focus RS and ended up significantly slower than stock!

Well I had my custom made with Powerflow for £350 from the down pipe 3" all the way. Only took them 5 hours to do the job and I'm very pleased.

i see what you mean... i just think whatever exhaust you buy you will not notice a power increase

Exactly who i would go too. Wonder if I can say I want it to be 98db? Wonder if they will like me :) gotta keep my Combe options, and with a poor 100dB limit you have to be prepared for just that. Should probably get induction kit first then maybe pay them a visit.

'Notice' yes true. And at the end of the day I belive the TRD (on a US Celica) with 161BHP (maybe whp thou) the TRD boosted this to 167bhp (or whp) a 6hp gain. If I got custom and had 4 or 5 gain, tbh I wouldn't be too offended. Just dont want to loose power!

Also... Im slowly aqquiring TRD parts, Gear Knob, Seat Belt Pads, and I dont want to put TRD graphics on the car (small ones) if I dont have the parts.

- TRD Gear Knob

- TRD Seat Belt Pads

- Eibach Springs (basically TTEs... TRD?)

Yeah... so I have another reason. I think I just like brands so I can then have a small gfx on the car saying TRD and have a reason on having it there.
