Can someone tell me how the cooled air glove box works, have set the switch to on but still warm.

Does the cabin temperature control have to be set at, say face, feet & face or what, either way not very good.

The answer is VERY VERY slowly so if you want to cool just ONE bottle of your favourite drink then set the cabin temperature to minimum, put the bottle in the left of the glovebox and drive for AT LEAST 2 hours.

Isn't it curious that Toyota added this totally useless feature to the new RAV4 but at the same time took away the best feature of the old RAV4 - I'm referring to those hooks on the back of the rear seats where you could hang your shopping bags. Apparently people hung objects which were too heavy and they snapped off so the solution was to get rid of them.

The cooled glove box better deserves this fate.

My 2006 RAV4 still has those hooks on both sides of the boot so they've not been removed, just moved.

You're right but my 2004 RAV4 had the side hooks as well - the ones on the seat backs were much better though.

So going back to the cooled glove box, not a lot of good then!

You do realise that it will only work when the glove box is closed?

The little vent that you can open and close at the back of the glove box registers on a duct when you push it back to the closed position. If you want to know how much cold air is fed through, take the glove box out as shown in the manual for changing the cabin filter and then feel the end of the duct with the air con running.

Regards
