:help: hi guys, as the title suggests but i'm calling on you guys to tell

me what to watch out for good points and of course the bad

points/trouble areas. i'm gonna be looking for a 5dr 98 on

cos she needs the boot space the 3drs dont have and she

likes the clear front lights and wide arch look. and what

kinda prices should i expect to pay. cheers :thumbsup:

Off the top of mt head i can't think of any problems on the MK1 RAV4, just treat it like any other used car, body damage, clean oil ,water ,pas fluid. make sure every electrical item works , inc air/con if fitted.

Has been a bit of talk on gearboxes playing up as they get older, but that should show up in a good roadtest including getting up into 5th gear.

Check for service history...also when the cam belt was changed.

Use the on line sites to check you're getting the RAV at the right price...
