HI,

I'm a new owner of a 1989 hilux and i am sure i have seen someone, somewhere with a set of seats bolted onto the bed of their truck. If so i was wondering if anyone knew of someone else doing this and what the legal requirements are. Im thinking of putting purpose made toolox about a foot deep and the full width, at the head of the bed, next to the cab with a padded seat on top. two lap seatbelts and your done...........right??? :help: ????

Should probably phone DVLA but we all know how useful they are!!!!!!!!! :censor: !!!!!!!!!

Any help would be great?????

Please dont quote me on this but i would have thought you can put the seats in but not carry passengers on a public highway with them as your changing the seating capacity of the vehicle and therefore the vehicle would be subject to a SVA test as the same as kit cars.

The other thing to take into consideration is if you did carry passengers in the back and your vehicle was involed in a accident i dont believe you would have a leg to stand on with insurers and the law.
