I havent had time to have a good look at it yet but does anyone know how to remove the Sony CD unit?

I can see its got a kind of dark grey surround with two curved dips either side of the unit but dont want to pull or push too hard in-case I damage the surround.

Whats the correct way to remove it and does the unit slide out after that?

Cheers chap! Was having difficulty finding my previous posts... Think I may have to do a 'muppets guide' for a sticky on this, as I can see its going to become more and more common as G7s get cheaper.

Sorry for being the 'muppet' who needed a guide :D

There's more to it than I expected. I thought the trim around the player pulled off leaving some clips for the unit itself.

Better than my MR2 though, where you had to remove the dash to take the player out from behind. Now that WAS a pain in the @rse

Sorry - the comment wasn't aimed directly at you, and no offence meant! I've just had to go through this numerous times now...

Its actually only a few minutes work. And I'd rather go through that every time I needed to get to the back of the stereo than have it nice and easy for any chav with a screwdriver!
