so far i've learned custom brake and clutch lines hard lines will have to be bent and fitted to make this work...

along with numerous other cuts/drills and welds :)

yup thats right i'm converting my LHD into a RHD!

Other way round fella! You had a RHD, and your making it LHD! Don't want you getting confused, otherwise you'll end up with a steering wheel on one side, and pedals on the other!

That pipe you're not sure on. With the air flow, isn't it normally the case that inner blowers blow hot air, and the outer blowers by the doors blow cool air. So, it'd make sense that if there was once a fan there, it could easily supply cold air from one end and push it in to the cab...? It looks very much like its in the right place for that as well... Just a thought.

I dont know what the hell is going on here but it all looks very technical and pointless!!! Surely buying RHD is easier, yes no???

Whats that bit of an old Celi for?????? I'll have a joint and then it should become clearer!!! lol It looks a mess on the back of the pick up truck!

Whats an AT206????? AND WHY DOES IT NOT HAVE A ROOF!

I think the car's the USA equivalent of the ST and he is going to chuck in a 3sgte lump :thumbsup:

So in the end he wants a right hand st205 with a Curren front end i think! :unsure::unsure:

I'm sure he'll be along to verify this!

A lot of work mate and fair play to you :thumbsup: Good luck with it, it is WAY beyond my capabilites and there'll be people saying why do you bother but it's obviously just because you want to and can :thumbsup:

you my friend are spot on!

for those of you who didn't gather the pics arn't of my car...they are from a donor CLIP (front cut)

of an ST205....my car is USA bred and thus LHD

USA ST AT200....

thus a RHD here is very rare +1 for that mod :)

and i do have to say steve you did a great job decoding that chassis code..

AT206

its an AT200 frame

ST206 front end and drive side (curren front end with RHD swap)

so i made up the AT206 :) oh and yes my car is HATCH

it will be getting a fully built 3sgte with a t3/t4 turbo, forged pistons and rods, head work ect...ect..

(it will be staying FWD)

and an i can't import a GT4 or RHD version for that matter...US import laws i'd have to wait about 10 more years or so to import a 6th gen celica

Americans hey, cant wait 5 mins between invading countries but try and import a car and you have to wait 10 years!

Looks like its going to be a beast mate and one !Removed! of a car to drive hard! Surely 300+bhp going to the front wheels!!! wowser

One question though, why bother going RHD?? Apart from being a ball ache to do its totally impractical!

good luck with it dude. make sure you get an LSD in an MR2 turbo gearbox.

i have the viscous type as the plate type is a little too harsh in a FWD car.

secial red 300bhp through the fronts is not that bad. i had 350 and it was still controlable. 450-500 may be a different matter

Dawesy - I agree its possible but Im going of previous experience of just 270bhp in my GTE which aint got LSD or Traction control and she is a right pain when she wants to be! 4WD is the way forward IMHO once you get to 300+ as its about usable power after that point.

Whats yours running at the moment and whats she like in the wet????? and Just got to say I bet you have some fun in that!!!

not sure ATM will be off to be mapped in a few weeks.using the same turbo as ian smith an hes got 620bhp at the fly on road fuel at 1.8 bar!!!

ill settle for 450-500, 500bhp being the cut off until a steel cranck nd carrilo rods come my way :(

in the wet its fine, you just have to learn to drive properly not go mashing the throttle everywhere. if your smooth its fine.

no torque steer on this puppy, unlike the old RS Turbos that would throw you off the road at the mearest hint of power.

I have embarressed quite a few people in my time but I bet thats going to be the ultimate car to 'own' people in!

I think with 500bhp your looking at some serious times. Here is a mate of mine in a Corsa doing an 11.8 at the Pod, I love the wheel trims and the 'What a load of rubbish' look he has gone for!

In his own words the spec is boring, c20 XE, fast road cams, , rod bolts, throttle bodies,exhaust manifold and lots of nitrous.

Around a 150 shot of gas! around 350 IIRC.

sorry my response is slow been very busy with some customer projects

we don't invade other countries...we HELP install democracy :thumbsup: :D

300-400 shouldn't make the car hard to drive although traction will be an issue but proper tuning should take care of that issue for the most part

RHD is just something i've always liked and something i've been given the chance to try and make happen..and since nobody else has it/done it then i'm defenitly up for the challenge!

impractical...well thats in the eye of the beholder cause investing money into a depreciating object is impractical :ffs:

but i'm actually looking into useing the E153 transmission from a Toyota Solara..then installing an aftermarket LSD although i came into a new site where the company will make a 6spd sequential gear box for the car...although expensive its a GREAT option

i'm still working on removing the firewalls from the clip and my car, i've had very little time to make progress on it...september 17th i will be picking up my CURREN body pieces and frame pieces for the CURREN front end conversion (bumper, hood, fenders, headlights, frame)

i've been so busy with costomer projects that i have no time for my own

a carbon fiber boot lid for the coupe has been finished and shipped pictures on the car are soon to come

right now i'm working on a custom interior for a 2nd person pics installed on sunday

and then a 3rd customer is getting a filled flush mount license plate holder (pics next week)

sorry it wont be an AT206 man, a Toyota Curren with an A series engine? thats what AT206 works out as being...

its an AT200 frame

ST206 front end and drive side (curren front end with RHD swap)

so i made up the AT206 oh and yes my car is HATCH

That just makes an ST206 still...

First Letter is engine model so 3SGTE

Second letter is the frame so T

and then the last three digits reffer to model so if its a curren it'll be a 206

yes i know but i'm keeping the "A" in reference to the fact its NOT a true ST206 ;) so that it keeps its roots as an AT200 :)

i personally believe motor swapping doesn't really denote a chassis code change..:/

otherwise there are ST200s running around here

so the 6 goes on to let you know its not ordinary and curren is involved heavily...but that it infact isn't a factory misrepresentation
