Help! I Cant Find My Oil Filter!

Hiya, I have a 1990 MR2 turbo, Ive only had it 2 weeks and trying to give it an oil change but I cant find the oil filter anywhere on the engine :(

Can anyone tell me where it is? I cant see it on the top of the engine or the sump, Im completely lost.

its to the right of the alternator

under the silver heat shield

Ok, just been underneath, the alternator is located at rear drivers side (right hand side) of the engine bay, low down, theres no heat sheilds or guards, there all up the front of the engine bay.

Stand over the engine. You'll see the exhaust heat shield at the back of the engine. (making sure the engines cold!) have a feel around just under and to the right of the heatshield and you should find it.

So its a remote oil filter not attached to the engine? The only place I havent looked is behind the heat shields in the engine bay (below the rear windscreen) Is that where its most likely to be then? Was that a standard place for it to be located?

If it as a after market oil cooler fitted it could be bolted anywhere, have seen alot bolted under the boot,

have a look under the car in front of the exhaust, the best way to find it is to follow the pipes which will run fron under the ex/manafoldto the oil cooler (if fitted).

as its an mr2 youll look under the heatsheild located between the engine and front bulkhead (ie behind the rear seats) under that is your turbo and the oil filter it located next to that
