I worked out today although the computer in the dash says i'm getting about 34-35mpg its actually around 28mpg which is a mixture of A road use and Motorway use...

My missus who has a Yaris 1.3sr but its used as a runaround gets 34mpg and my CBR600 is returning around 38mpg has anybody else worked it out I was a bit surprised thought it might have been a bit more for all 3...

Never really worked mine out, but it's around 300 miles to each fill up (45-50L)

Based on 47 Ltrs which is 12.41 gallons you are getting around 24mpg... :help:

nah, that cant be right!

I used to benchmark this against my old MG ZS+ which was a NASP 1.8, which also used to return around 320 for the same size tank. I worked that out to be around 34-36.

I know this isnt the same breed, so 300 to a tank would be around the 30 mark...

EDIT: Just worked it out based on £40 fill at 94.9 is around 42L, which equates to 32mpg, which isnt too bad :D

Sorry i'm a moron just noticed my convertor on the phone is US gallons...

Using the correct conversion the corolla is about 34-35 (which means my dash computer is pretty accurate) the yaris is High 40's and the CBR is low 50's...

hi, i have just been reading through this thread and am envious you all seem to be getting such good mpg.

I worked mine out today after owning the compressor for over about 2 weeks now and i am averaging 21mpg. Just a little bit more thirty than i thought it was going to be. where do toyota get their figures from.

i put in 33.96 litres and had done 154 miles.

Thin Air!!!!

Nah it depends how ya drive it. This week i've not touched lift, tried my best to change before 4k revs, and so far done 100 miles and am avg 33-34. Thats in a normal t-sport, as you've got a compressor thats gonna be more heavier on juice and with it being new, its gonna have to loosen up for the first 500 or so miles before things start to balance out.

One thing that can also effect you mpg is petrol quality! What petrol you puttin into it? I notice with Shell optimax (or V-power) you find the car more smoother and better on fuel. Not by much mind, maybe a few mpg better.

P.s Welcome to the forum!!!

thanks rolley. I am using the tesco super as it is 99ron. I tried BP Ultimate but noticed that was only 97. Would you recommend the Shell over the Tesco Super then?

i tried the bp and couldn,t notice any difference so went back to tesco its better value without a doubt :driving:

Need to fill up today and am tempted to go for the 99 RON Tesco fuel as it's now available here

Managed to get 40.4 mpg on this tank using tesco regular stuff.

One question - does anyone use any of those petrol additives at all and do you see any difference (other than a warm feeling of keeping your engine clean on the inside)?

I've only ever used the Shell, I can't be bothered travelling to tesco to get petrol cause its smack in the middle of town. Shell is only down the road from me. I think i'm becoming more Lazier in my old age

I used additives a few years back when i had a ford puma. (yes i know, girlie car). I only used it for a couple of tankfuls. I never really noticed any difference. Like you say it gives you that warm feeling of being good to your engine by giving it a bit of a clean.

i can run with that. i do worry when i go to tesco. it has the added worry of women nearby with shopping trolleys. i value the paintwork on the car.........i shall go and run and hide now.

If you get 30MPG when you drive it like you stole it i wouldnt recomend trying to actualy steal cars, you will get caught to easily. I dont drive it like i stole it but still only get around 27MPG.

Too right, i'm too good to nick cars! :D

however I am a bit puzzled why your MPG is so low, The only mods I have done to my car are to change the oil to Mobil 1 and change the gearbox oil and keep the filter clean.

The change of oil makes a difference though, especially when cold.

Well I managed 401 miles on pretty much a full tank and the mpg showed 40.3 (damn town driving) at an avg of 25mph, but that was some serious grandad driving I can tell you - plus a nice big motorway stint over to North Wales last weekend.

I've stuck a full tank of Tesco's 99RON Super Unleaded in and i'm just going to drive it to see what sort of mpg I get at the end of it (without having the mpg display up and constantly tring to keep it up over 40) :D.

I read that acetone thread in the Toyota Performance subforum, which sounded quite interesting - but i'm too chicken to try something like that. Has anyone else been brave enough yet ?

I only got my Compressor yesterday so it's a bit early to judge the consumption.

I notice the Compressor does not have mpg in the computer ;)

Any ideas why they ommited it and is there a 'fix'?

My old '02 T-Sport got a best of 37 on a run but that was rare

i have no mods to the car, it has only done 7,000 miles though. noticed the MPG goes up when the other half is in the car though.

get told off if i use lift to much with her in it
