Remote Key Fob Problems On My Gen 6

Hi my remote central locking key fob has stopped working i have replaced the Battery and still it does not work, so tried holding the to buttons in for 2 seconds as it says in the manual but its still not working. Wondering if any one knows how to get these to work again, as i took it to the Toyota garage hear in notts and they told me id have to book it in for them to look at it, not to keen on that as i dont want to pay them just for looking at key fob lol.

Any help would be great.

Strangely enough I was going to post this today too as mine's not working either, but as we have a similar problem any help would be much appreciated too.

Or, I got around some alarm fob problems by taking the Battery out of the fob for a few seconds and then putting it back in, WITHIN RANGE of the car.

yeah thats the same as my fob, i had similar problems with my paseo and the toyota garage back home in cumbria just reset it for me cost me nothing, there is no way im dropping the car in for them to look at and charge me the earth

Thanks alot sotal you are a genius, just been out and tried it using step 2 worked perfectly first time. Well Pleased i have got it working again :D , now all i need to do is fit my new electric window regulator and all will be well in the world of my celica again lol.

In your other post when you say keep the button held while and during having the back off the fob, how do you manage that? Every time I try this the rubber button thing with the actual buttons on pops out of the remote casing and I can't keep it held down....

Is there a knack to this or can I let go and hold it while the back's off and then again when I replace it? Its been driving me loco for months getting this thing sorted. As you have it working it's obviously the way I'm doing it :(

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.
