Does anybody know where I can get some uprated discs for my 02 Avensis from? I have been searching the net inside out for the last couple of weeks but i'm unable to find a supplier. What I would like to get is some cross drilled discs. :help:

Better still try Brakes International ;)

They are alot cheaper than speedways... best to phone them and ask.... oh and by the way, your front calipers are A T E single piston... they will need to know this when and if you phone.

I've just bought some Combi (drilled and vented) black diamond discs from Proven-Products 01822 613200

I trawled all over the net and they were the cheapest. Speak to a chap called Tim, and say that I recommended you having just purchased a set from him. He'll do you a good price.

Thank you all for those links.

I've been down the lines of the black diamond discs and they don't do them for my model. The brake set up changed in 2000 typical that is!

That's a shame! Not sure what other uprated ones you can go for: Feroda, Brembo?

Failing that some, std ADL Blueprint ones?

It is a shame indeed i was quite looking forward to fitting the black diamond ones.

I have tried Brembo and EBC still no luck though EBC have managed to supply a set of pads so i'm half way there

Yeah I have the greenstuff pads on mine, get those instead of the standard EBC ones.

Bit of a late post i know but ive been busy,

I got the Black Diamond combi (drilled and grooved) discs and pads for my 1999 CDX and i just gota say, WOW

Well impressed just when you think your at full braking force they bite even more and stop you in no time. They dont come cheap but at the end of the day i think your brakes should be the first upgrade you do and not the last (safety first!). Just glad i got rear drums so i did'nt have to pay for another set!

Yeah after speaking with you I was going to go for blake diamond discs and pads. But was advised the greenstuff pads were a better combo. I literally got them fitted on Saturday, so still letting them bed in. They do feel and look alot better than standard!

Well my discs turned up today and fitted them this afternoon and I have to say it was nice to drive home with out the wheel trying to get out of my hands!!

So the discs are grooved and drilled from brake international and the pads are EBC ulitmax pads which i believe are much like standard pads. I went for those cos I don't want to be driving down the road warming the brakes up just so I can use them after all it is a family car.

Did you go for the EBC pads because of the lower brake dust then? (help preserve your nice wheels)

Good choice on the disks you wont regret it when they're worn in but just take it easy for the first 100-150 miles, then you can try and make them glow like an F1 car

Yeah to help them stay clean, although I've started to get a clicking on the drivers side (when I change from forward to backward motion - and vice versa), which I've been told is pad slap...

Not too happy at the moment!! :censor: I've been told it could be the carrier that is slightly worn, allowing the pad to move slightly in there. My argument is, the other side isn't doing it!?!?!

Try Brakes International.... I take it your calipers are made by Aisin since they are twin piston.... the single piston calipers are made by ATE and were installed on the avensis from july 2001 onwards.
