Just clean and degrease the wheel. Key it with some 400 grade wet and dry paper, prime the wheel, flat it with 400 grade again, paint in several even coats, flat with soap and wet 800 grade wet and dry, then stacks of lacquer.

Flat the lacquer with 1200 grade wet and dry/soap combo. Polish to shine with Autoglym Super Resin Polish.

It's a lot of work, especially if you have some serious multispoke action going on, but it's a very satisfying job.

If you want to go down the professional powder coating route though - I got some wheels done a couple of years ago at a local place. Drop the car off in the morning, they remove the wheels, remove the tyres, chemically clean and prep the wheels, powder coat, refit tyres and balance the wheels, refit to car. All done in 4 or 5 hours. £150.

Cracking service .

I'd say flat them with 600 wet'n'dry ---> prime ---> 800 wet'n'dry ---> paint (3/4 coats) ---> lacquer (2/3 coats)

You could try to falt and polish them afterwards, but if they're multispokes it'll be a long process.

Take your time with them and good luck.
