hey guys, just a quick query, i have a 94 GT, i have recently put a cold air intake on the car and i seem to notice a huge power hike, also the change of note the higher i got in the revs, but after about 4 weeks i seem to have noticed she is slower off the mark and really just doesnt pull as quick as before, the car is due for a service but i didnt think that this would be the problem, any ideas, she runs fine with no flat spots or jerkyness, just a lack of power. ( i almost got beaten by a 1.4 corsa!!)

Shot in the dark from a total newbie, but what fuel are you running on?

Ive got a 93 ST202 and noticed a drop in power recently compaired to when i got it. Then some of the guys here said it should be running on the high octain fuel, like Optimax. Filled her up on that and we are back to normal so i guess she had a tank of Optimax when i got her, but i used the normal stuff.

import gt's , more commonly known as the ss2 should be ran on 100 ron fuel , this is what the ecu was set up on .

a uk model st202 with the 3sge engine just needs 95 ron fuel , although it may benefit from optimax all be it in your mind and pants dyno .

as for lack of power with an induction kit fitted , first id check all the vacuum pipes are still connected that were running to the stock eqipment before you swapped over .

it may be suffering from heat soak , ie the engine runs hot , the induction kit sucks in all that hot air = less oxygen which in turn = less power .

it could of course not be related to the induction kit and may be something else completly different.
