As a new Avensis owner can anyone tell me what the idling speed of a T3S should be when it's warmed up?

Is there a service manual available for the Avensis?

Thanks

Not sure if engine model makes a difference-do you have a 1.8, 2.0, petrol or diesel, auto or manual?

My 2.0 T3-X auto idles just under 1000, say about 900rpm when nice and warm and not in gear.

from memory

600~650rpm-ish for manuals

800~850rpm-ish for auto's

when cold a lot higher though

Mine ticks over around 650-700 when warm. Has you said when cold mine has been ticking over around 1900 rpm.

My 1.8 auto is about the same when warm - 600-700

It's to speed the warm up of the engine and cat.

Better to warm it up quickly with a high cold idle then let it idle at a low speed and take forever to warm up

:) Thanks for all the prompt replies. My 1.8 T3S also ticks over at 650 rpm. I had 10 years of a 1.8 Carina which had one persistent, but intermittent fault - a sticking accelerator cable - which meant it sometimes revved at 1000 rpm instead of 500 rpm even when warmed up. When I found my T3S ticking over at 650 I wondered if I'd got the same problem I had with the Carina. Thanks to your help everything seems OK.
