Back On The Road!

Hi All,

Just to say - the Supra's finally back on the road. It's had £3.5k ish worth of work done to it, but OMG it was worth it. I've been grinning since the first time I got behind the wheel, what a car!! Great performance and drives beautifully. 20 mpg about what I expected and it should get better when my right foot eases off a bit. :D

Total work done was:

New viscous couplar, fan, radiator and engine hoses that had blown out.

New Head Gasket, skimmed head and valve clearances re-shimmed.

Valve stem seals replaced.

New Timing Belf and tensioner (might as well while it's in bits)

Full service

Gearbox was fine after towing - so no problems there and all other mechanical bits are fine also. A new head from Mr T would have been approx £2000.00 fitted - WTF  , lucky the old head was within tolerances.

From now on it's all cosmetic/personal preference stuff that I can do. Later on some mild tweaking is in order, but for now I need time to let my wallet cool off. Slush fund for emergency repairs totally blown into touch with this one!

Just to say a big thanks to all those who've commiserated/offered support etc over the last (very long) 2 months. It was nice to know people were sympathising. Technical help was also appreciated.

I now need to get some pics once I scrounge a digital camera as mine's packed in! Until then a long drive to Southampton is on the cards - might actually enjoy the A35/31 for a change.
