Air Conditioning Problem On New Corolla Colour Collection

Afternoon all,

Recently bought a new Corolla colour collection and unfortuately, the air conditioning did not work. So it went back to dealer. Currently waiting for the spare part (expected in about a month's time). Obviously, the missus is a bit upset with the quality of service delivered by Toyota as the fault occurred when the dealer installed the optional alarm. Needless to say neither ourselves nor the dealer checked that everything worked after the installation (so I guess that we are partly to blame).

So my question is.....

Is this problem typical of the new Corollas or are we just the exception?

Cheers,

David

Unfortunately some Dealerships are better than others, I would chase the Dealership or try and call another local Dealership to see if they can help. One month seems a long time to wait for a part!!

Generally Corolla's as with all Toyota's are reliable and will keep going for ages if looked after, unfortunately the cars are only as good as the mechanics that maintain them or install bits on them :D

Thanks for the response.

Yes, one month is a long time but we have already raised this to Club Toyota and there is nothing else that can be done. Will be changing dealership after the first free service.

They are taking the ***** :ffs:

If I was you just go to another Toyota dealership and get them to sort it out for you, tell them that the other garage said that they said it would take 1 month to order a part.

Also call or write to head office not Club Toyota - not sure on the address/phone number (should be on the website somewhere)

If you don't know where you other local Toyota dealerships are just go onto the Toyota website and on there and enter your post code and it will tell you where they are.

Also you may or may not know that you DON'T have to get your car serviced where you brought it from. I brought mine from a garage in Leister but get all my work done at my second local Mr T because of poor service from my closest Mr T.

Thanks for support folks.

In all fairness, I have a replacement car for the time it takes to repair the car and it does have air conditioning. I did write to head office but any message gets diverted back to Club Toyota and then I am still at the mercy of the dealership.

Anyway, any part taking over one month to deliver is a cause for concern. The delay is because the part gets shipped (literally via boat from anyone of four locations) to Toyota Europe in Belgium and then delivered from there. I am guessing that it is cheaper to rent me a car than to rush an emergency part to the UK.

So out of curiousity, I requested the part number. It is 085861e861.

Can't find it on the web, so could anyone tell me what it is please?

Thx David
