Traffic Announcement Volume Level

Can anyone suggest a method for altering the volume at which traffic announcements are delivered.(06 model Yaris)The handbook is unhelpful and simply refers to power/volume switch but the power/volume switch entry simply says that it controls power and volume. I'd like to have TA announcements at a slightly higher volume so as to notice them.

There is a certain logic to that... :D

Seriously though, I have this funny suspicion that you may just have to pay a little more attention. Its one of those radio functions that I just disable as soon as I get ino a new car and its never used again for the duration, but I guess living up here in the sticks mans that the info is mainly irrelevant..

Good luck

From memory..............I think that the way to get the TA louder than normal radio is to wait until a TA is broadcast and set the volume that you want the TA's to be at.

When the TA finishes the radio station (RDS) automatically switch the signal back to radio and your radio should go back to its lower volume.

Thats how it works on my current Yaris.

It does if the transmitting station presses the RDS buttons correctly.......................trouble is not many of them do these days :(

Howard, yours may not work as it is a phase 1..................(I do not want to get into the ph1/ph2 argument)
