Help Needed

Ok so as said in the topic, none of my keys are either locking or unlocking the car! The wee red light is showing on both of them but nothing happens. And theyre not hold/cold so its nothing to do with temperature. :(

Any ideas/help?

Batteries?.. be unlucky that both go at the same time though.

if red light is on then it should be ok

if its weak, then try holding the keys over the center of the windscreen to get as close to the sensor as possible

is there anything like a radio mast nearby? as i think standard toyota alarms have anti code grabbing, to stop light fingered types cloning your key chips, and if there is a strong signal somewhere, it may be playing havoc with the reception on the alarm

try unlocking the door (alarm will probably go off) by opening the lock with the key, get in, and then try and arm/disarm the system. While your in the confines of the vehicle

test the Battery first though!

the only other thing i can think of.... and this really applies to the likes of Clifford and other aftermarket systems, dont think the OE Toyota one does, but everytime you arm the alarm, the system alters the code and reprograms the key... another system for tackling code grabbers, and if your unlucky the key chip can possibly 'corrupt' and go out of sync with the rest of the system, but seems highly unlikely that BOTH keys would do it together... just a thought though :)
