Avensis D4d T4 - Cruise Control

Hi

I have just brought a 04 Avensis T4 D4D and i was under the impression that it came with cruise control as standard but mine dose not have it?

Is this an option on the 04 model or is there something amiss here.

Other than that the car is excellent, well chuffed with it.

My brother and a few of my mates work at the Toyata factory were the Avensis is produced, i will get them to ask the assembly crew in the dashboard section if the connections are present and if i can get hold of a column from a breaker.

May or may not be the same but I have/had the same gripes on my Corolla :(

Mines an a 04 diesel and it didn't come with front fog lights even though the same spec petrol came with them, where as the new one's do (05+) so you might have just missed it <_<

I brought my Avensis 2.2d-4d t4 new last july ( 05 ) and no cruise control, Thought I could live without but coudn't so I have asked at the local toyota garage to see if they would Retro fit it and no can do £4,000 new engine loom and all that.......I personally think that mr toyota would not produce a standard wiring loom that went into all there range of avensis models.

If you find out that it can be done. pls let me know as I really want Cruise also if you happen to find out if they are planning to release a new sat nav disc with a post code option I would be intereseted too.

It's a great car, but the crap nav and no cruise is starting to wear

I will ask around my friends and see if i can get some info. I only live 15 miles from the factory so there is a fair few people i know that work or know someone who works there.

I know that on some other make of car the wiring loom is standard, i cant imagine there being various loom option for various models but i will try and find out.

Toyota factory workers get the option to lease Toyota cars from the factory (nearly all the workers take up this option), and i know my brother is due a car change soon, so i will ask him to borrow his Sat Nav DVD and i will see if it has post code search included.

Cruise was only standard on the T-Sprit.

I thought it was a bit short sighted as well, not to include it or offer it as an option.

I had it on my Golf (it was a £150 option!!), and loved it on long journeys.

The early model corolla diesels never had front fogs. The facelifted one did.
