Well, I have just sold my beloved VX220 Turbo convertible and bought an older RAV4 Reebok edition. Completely different than a two seater impracticle sports car but a refreshing change. All the creature comforts that the VX didn't have.

I done a bit of research and came to the quick conclusion that it would be a good choice so I hope I made the right one  Enjoying it so far though. Managed to find a good one as well. Fingers Crossed!

Are these any good in the mud / snow etc then?

Welcome to the world of the RAV4 :) ,you've made a great choice on a new motor, the MK1 limited addition models has that cheeky chunky look and feel about them ,and should still give you an enjoyable drive.

As you know, the RAV4 is sold as a SUV and was never meant to be an off road trail blazer, but in the same breath it will be good for the odd dirt track and unmade road.

What limits the RAV4 to light off road duties is the tyres, it will quickly get stuck on wet grassy banks and slopes .

Let us know how you get on with you're new motor, i'm sure you'll enjoy its brisk on road manners :) .

Top choice matey!

Just got rid of my 1998 Mk 1 VX model, and am still missing it. They've got proper character. The biggest thing is the reliability which makes them so cheap to run.

Any advice? Let us know!

Hi,

I know for sure you will be happy with this vehicle!

I bought an 51 reg for my girlfriend begin this year and every time I drive this Rav 4 I love it. It drives very well and the seats are good, just sit straight. And the overall look around the traffic you have cos high position is great as well. It's a well all rounder.

Have fun.
