New Headunit In A 99 Corolla, Fascia Adapter Needed?

Ok as title basically. I have successfully removed the factory stereo, but upon attempting to fit the new aftermarket one in its place, I have found the hole for it too be ever so slightly too small, now I was considering filling it down but that would look a bit shoddy, so someone must know if theres a faceplate adapter out there for this car that would enable it to fit better and where I can buy it? I have just bought a faceplate adapter (FP-11-00) but I think its for the wrong generation of corolla. Mines is the one with the radio in the pod ontop of the dash. If someone could reply to this asap cos it really annoying me having no muic in my car :(

I never had that problem with two kenwood headunit.

I did however on first attempt try to feed headunit (wires 1st) through front of pod because of plastic surround on face of unit. then realised it comes off  so mounted it behind opening, attached brackets, then fitted plastic surround.

Sorry I can't be of any real help.

If you do file it down the headunit surround should cover it depending on unit in question, and how much you file away

Richard
