Trip Computer Accurancy

Have used my Corolla 1,6 VVTi for a few month now and mostly on highways. When checking the trip computer it reads 4,5L/100Km (1 Km = 0,6214 mile and 1L = 0,22 UK gallon) equal 62 mpg! It looks like the computer shows at least 20-30% too low consumtion! What is yout experience of the trip computer accuracy? Is there any way to calibrate it to make it show more correct figures?

It takes an average .... so if you haven't reset it for a while the figures hardly move.

But it's still not very good anyway - All I use is the trip meter and fill it to the brim  !

I reset it to zero and wait till around 450 Miles to fill it up again :P !

But I have been to 520miles ;) !

HI

I have a 1.6 T Spirit manual and did a check on the computer a few months back .

After covering about 1100 miles and working from the fuel used from the petrol pump ,

it worked out at 45.6 mpg and the computer showed 45.5 mpg .

There is nothing that makes me think the speed is out , hope this is of smoe use .
