Door Open Alert

Hi,

I picked up my Avensis a few days ago and I'm still getting to grips with it (and the manual!). The car is 2003 - old shape. It appears from the manual that when a door is opened then there should be an audible alarm in addition to the dash symbol.

Can anyone confirm if this is the case - and why it may not be working?

The only time I get a warning sound (on my new Avensis) is when I have a light on or key in the ignition when I open the door (but not the ignition "on" or the engine running). I doubt there should be an audible alert for JUST a door open-that would drive me crazy!

The idea is that you turn your lights off or dont forget to take your key with you.

Hopefully the same for the older Avensis you have?
