Spare Key + Key Fob

I need a 2nd Key with builtin electronic KeyFob

Toyota is quoting £140 (too much)

I checked out on E-Bay and I can get hold of a blank key for £5 (simple without Key-Fob)

The Key Fob will cost me another£30 from E-bay)

The question is how do I get that Programmed?

Ok Guys,

I have been doing some research and found the following on the internet so I am going to buy a key from E-bay and try it out

Add Duplicate Key:

Requires one working Toyota/Lexus Master Key.

1. Make sure all doors and windows are closed.

2. Insert Master Key into the ignition cylinder.

3. Cycle the ignition cylinder from On to Off five times.

4. Open and close the "driver side" door 6 times.

5. TURN THE IGNITION CYLINDER ON.

6. New key will be registered after 60 seconds. The THEFT light on the dashboard will go out, indicating that programming has been completed.

I accept no responsibility for any damage or loss incurred as a result of above procedure. I have not yet tried this but will do as soon as I aquire a spare fob and will let you know.

I have the same problem. Recently bought 53 regd Avensis with one key. Bought another key on eBay, eventually managed to program the transponder and now I just need a key blank. Did you find a key blank ? I'll let you know if I do.

Only hope so far at http://www.hickleyvaltone.com/diagnostics/...php?manu=toyota, but my key is not pictured.

matey they charge £55.46 plus vat (£9.70) so roughly £65.10 that how much i got mine done for couple of weeks back

i have a AVENSIS 2000 GS TD manufactured, i've only got the grey key. The car has no alarm but has central locking.......can any one tell me does does this model come with remote keyfob even tho it doesnt have a alarm????? and where can i get 1 from?

Hi mate,

I went to a local Locksmith and asked him to do just a blade and that you have to cut the head off to the size and fit by small amount a glue.I did in about 10 minutes.

A 3 button key blank and case is available from Keyblade Trade Shop on e-bay for 7.49 (no transponder module) but one of these can be found on eBay and removed from a used key programming is very easy too.

I have just bought a 2001 Avensis, but the key is not working. I have seen the keys on eBay as noted in earlier posts, if I get a key from a scrapper can I transfer the internals into a new key and reprogramme.

Muarriff, How much did the key cost you from dealer? was the whole fob with electronics and blank key?
