I'm So Excited

I've just found out that Veloce are bringing out a new Celicas and Supra book.

I'll bet you're thinking that a new book is hardly something to get so excited about, but this is by Brian Long and I've got some of his other books - MR2, Boxster, 911 etc and they're all brilliant. You think you know everything about a car, then you read one of Brian Long's books and realise that you knew next to nothing.

  • 1 year later...

As I posted in another thread, finally got my hands on a copy of this book, so in answer to the questions here:-

The final chapter :( 15 pages out of 208 so probably a reasonable percentage considering it covers all the generations of the Celica and the Supra. Certainly better than the percentage coverage given to the Mk3 MR2 in the MR2 book; that was 90% about the Mk1 and Mk2 with only a few pages on the Mk3, but that's not surprising as it was published when the Mk3 was fairly new.

Sounds like a good idea.

Is it a Technical book or... ?

Includes lots of technical info - such as details of the changes that were made at each revision of the car, which engines and trims were available to different markets, bhps, 0-60 etc, etc.

But certainly not a workshop manual; there's nothing in this book that will tell you how to modify, maintain or repair a Toyota Coupe. Rather it's the story of the Celica and the creation of the Supra as a model in its own right. Lots of pictures, information about the market, reasons why the Supra then the Celica were discontinued etc, etc.
