Just got rid of our 2008 Avensis with the 2L 1AD-FTV diesel engine.

177500 miles with almost no trouble.

It needed new injectors under warranty at about 30,000 miles,  two new glow plugs at about 130,000 miles,  a new SCV at about 120,000 miles and a new AC compressor at about 140,000 miles.

Other than those few items, all it ever had was routine servicing - loads and loads of oil/filter changes.

It never failed to start and never broke down.

Good numbers here, 

usually the cars that are used daily on long trips last long and require mostly regular service. My Auris hybrid to date has only 179800 with everything original on it except tyres, brakes and wheel bearings which I changed because of rust previously the car was in minimal use. Other than that just oil and filters every 10k miles and some preventative maintenance like egr cleaning and Battery fan cleaning, that’s all. I hope I can take it to a high mileage like other guys at work, 300k + and one has a Peugeot 208 diesel with over 450k miles still in use daily but sold to someone else.
