hi guys its was the air flow meter that was the prob not the fuel pump it was a code 31 so we changed the air flow meter and now back on the road but... its only boosting to 6psi its was set at 10 psi before.

do i need to ajust the boost setting now its got a new air flow meter or is it something else??

it seems to be holding back....

thanks guys

hi yer ive just been out and done that.. took the fuse out of the efi and main ecu.. right?

then went for a drive stil only pushing 6 psi of boost and feels like its holding back.

all ive done is change the air flow meter it was dead... before that it was fine. would pull 10 psi and felt like you were realy starting to fly :) when you change an airflow meter does one have to retune the engine? do i reset the boost to where it was before?

any ideas?

thanks

6psi on the 185 is the stock actuator pressure, the ecu is able to up this to 10psi by use of the TVSV solenoid effectively a bleed valve controlled by the ecu.

Normally when the ecu detects an error state it will swtich the TVSV off hence lowering boost to 6psi as you are experiencing. Try checking the ecu for error codes, might be that the TVSV has been unplugged or is dead??

This is of course assuming you don't have an aftermarket boost controller?

hi right the mods are a alloy catch can ,manual boost controller set at 10psi, a fuel cut defender

It has a ct26 turbo with upgraded internals. It has had the TVIS system removed.

The head has been ported and gasflowed also Group A metal head gasket.

The exhaust has been de catted and is a stright through system .

was fine untill the air flow metter went........

but thinking about it im not sure if the metter i put on is any good as it came in a box of spares with the car........... so if anybody has one for sale please let me know.

and can any one tell me how to get the error codes ? i had a guy come over last time cost 40 pounds to find out the air flow metter was dead....

thanks guys:)
