Hi I am new here as I have just bought a 3 year old 2ltr D-4d T3-X, 31657 miles on the clock :D it has replaced a rather expensive to run 2ltr Mondeo Ghia TDi, :crybaby:

Whilst the Avensis does lack some of the Ford's accessories ie heated front screen, intermitant wiper etc, I do find overrall that this car has what it takes as far as fuel economy is concerned. On the Ford I was getting around 31mpg with Aircon around town now so far I have achieved an average of 41mpg with Aircon. Being a taxidriver you can see what an advantage this is when trying to keep fuel costs to a minimum. I read in a review earlier about an intermittant rattle that seems to originate from the rear end of the car, I also had this and found that the "Space Saver" spare wheel was not screwed down properly and that it wasn't seated correctly in the well of the boot

Welcome to the club matey :D

I'm sure being a taxi there will be some amusing stories coming in time :D :D :D

Avensis is a great car and as you've already experienced superb fuel economy for a car of it's size...

You should find the T3 X has variable sensitivity, automatic intermittent wipers :)

the automatic rain sensor is located just above the rearview mirror if you look at the windscreen from the outside

but 'manual' fixed interval intermittent on the rear if you have a hatch.
