My rear brake discs were completely dead!! so i have replaced them with these EBC grooved and dimpled discs and red stuff pads. They look very nice and appear huge now B)

but after the 1st days use i have got loads of brake dust n my wheel as u will see in the pic. is this just because they are new? hope so or my white wheels will never stay white :P

They look great mate! :)

I'm sure my black diamond discs put out oodles of dust when new and being bedded in, so i think it could be the protective coating coming off the disc?

EBC discs have a coating which is removed as part of the bedding in process, this helped by a bedding in surface on the EBC pads. I would have thought this would increase break dust whilst bedding in.

With new disc and pads at the same time you should be taking it easy on the braking for the first couple of hundred miles while the new parts bed in, otherwise they'll overheat and cook the materials making them pants in the future...

So basically give it about 2-300 miles or until the braking section of the disc has a nice clean finish to it, then see how they are after that

I had this after fitting simmilar discs (drilled and groved). Would agree with above, as long as you dont have sticky callipers is should settle down.

Dan Q, post up your pics when you have done that big brake conversion... im interested to see how that goes! :D

Washed the car and went for a very long hard drive tonight and it seems fairly dust free... must be settling down
