I have a 2006 1.6 Auto Corrolla and would like some info on the gearbax operation. The query is around the manual overdrive on/off function button on the gearlever. Is the gearbox three speed with an overdrive or does the overdrive "manual off" function just do the same as a kickdown would and change into second gear? i.e. Is the overdrive really just third gear.

Any clarification would be appreciated.

It's a Japanese Aisin-Warner 4 gear auto tranny with clutch lock function. O/D off switch disables 4th gear.
