First post so Hi Everyone. :)

Had a two day Test Drive in the Aygo a couple of weeks ago with a view to buying one for the wife, we're looking at cutting down on our fuel costs, so what could be better than one of these cheeky mights.

The only problem we have is that we have two grown up kids and a toddler, 5 in the family and 4 seats in the car don't really go but we thought we'd try it as we rarely travel together and I do have a hatchback though I don't usually let the kids in ;) pride and joy and all, anyway we get the logo'd car and the wife has first go following me home giving me the  after a couple of mile. Gets home and she loves it

Over the next two days we tried a couple of things like the weekly shop which surprised us by fitting neatly in the boot except for the french loaf which went on the parcel shelf. The big test was whether we could fit the nippers buggy in the boot, slid in nicely :) , we also gave the car a good go on all road types including motorways.

At the end of the two days I filled her up and found we'd averaged 52.5 MPG not bad as the car only had 1000miles on it and we were flooring it a bit.

Now we both liked the car but we still only had four seats and the wife wasn't sure, she didn't believe I'd use my car for family outings, so I said why dont we buy two  then I can keep the miles down on my car and store it in the garage over the winter and the family camping trips rare as they are can be a two car affair. She thought I was joking  but I've managed to talk her around and we've ordered two, Aygo Black 5dr with Air-con for the lady which we pick up on Tuesday and Chilli Red 5dr for me in 5 weeks.

Had a great deal from my local dealer aswell.

Result :D

EXCELLENT!!!!

:D Nice one.

What model is your red one - a '+' I guess - I would really go for the air on the red one as it will help resale.

And the big question . . . . what sort of deal do you get if you buy 2 then ?

It's not a Merc or BMW. I would say you'll not get anywhere near your £500 back when you sell or trade in after 3 years or so. I doubt people are that fussed on aircon on what is a cheap car new and even cheaper in 2 or 3 years time.

 I didn't really mean you would get your money back just that come resale there will be plenty used about so with a wide choice a buyer will go for one with air rather than one without.

My red one is just the base model, I didn't want to push my luck too far its my second new car this year, air con would've been nice but I'm happy. I only wanted the 3 door to start with but delivery was 9-10 weeks, dealer said I could have a 5 door in five weeks and they'd split the extra cost 50/50.

Negotiated a good deal seperately before actually putting pen to paper and they wouldn't budge afterwards, got the Black + Air con for £7930 + full tank of fuel - Aygo mats - front and rear Mudflaps and the red for £6120 including the fuel, mats and flaps  :D

Didn't get the BOGOF deal I'm afraid :( ;)

So you quite like the Aygo(s) then? :P

Wishing you all happy motoring.

Here is the first one - Aygo Black for the misses

Car is great and the wife loves it, we've had to order a new alloy as we noticed that one was marked when we got it home, getting fitted next Friday when I get to pick up the second Aygo which arrived at the dealers today :D

Got to say that the dealer, Westlands in Stourbridge, West Mids have been fantastic  , very relaxed atmosphere and no hard sell after the two day test drive, they've kept us informed of events up to delivery, great handover with a bunch of flowers for the good lady as well, I've told him not to bother with the flowers when I pick mine up next week ;) :D

LOL. Looks great wish her well to use it. ;)

If the Yaris is anything to go by, finding a second hand Aygo will be like rocking horse dropings in a couple of years time. I know, because I tried finding one. Apparently most of the car supermarkets cannot get enough second hand Yaris's to meet demand. If you see one on sale in a private add, it will most likely be too expensive or already sold by the time you phone up.

Anyway, on an older car, air con can be seen as an additional unecessary expense by some drivers.

Especially when you may get one week's worth of hot weather in a year :P Living in the Northern Hemisphere does sometimes suck. If you're not blinded by the sun, you can't see the road markings for the rain bouncing off the tarmac and windscreen!

Well picked up the red Aygo on Friday, the weather was apalling, I had to drive through flooded roads, cars were going past throwing waves of water of the car :crybaby: anyway got it home and took a couple of pics

and here's a pic of both squeezed on the drive

The car is great I just have to get used to putting a key in the door again  my wife couldn't help but take the mick because of the extras her Aygo has but she soon stopped when she took it for a drive and found that its feels quicker and corners better than the Black. :D I can only guess that the Black weighs more with the extras it has, I know some people say that red cars are faster but I've never believed it until now.

Good job it is Toyota's smallest ever car otherwise you wouldn't fit two back to back like that :D

I know what you mean about the key. Took me a while to get back in the habit, and I'm so careful not to make a scratch on the door in the dark.

As well as the weight I think there is a bit wider rubber on the Aygo Black alloys as well, sapping your speed :crybaby:

I wonder if any engine tuning kits are going to come out soon. Makes commercial sense for third parties since the Aygo engine is used in the Yaris, C1, 107 and Sirion as well.

Toyota took the step of sending a letter to my girlfriend offering to pay a 'premium price' to part-ex her Yaris. She now drives a new Corrolla colour collection!

test driving an aygo right now (take it back tomorrow). I was looking at the aygo to replace my seicento.

I was attracted to the aygo because of its looks and size, and the car's finish is great. I have one problem though, and that is once I got near where I live, the roads turn a bit (understatement) bumpy. I don't know wether its because of the suspension or the seat or a combination of both, but I could feel it right through the bottom of my back, Im a bit sensitive around my kidneys anyway. By the time I'd got home I was in alot of pain.

I thought it may have been just not used to the car, but the 2nd day was the same. having a short blast on the M62 was OK, but as soon as I hit the bumpy A roads, I got it again. Its a shame really because otherwise the car is great and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a small runaround. Looks like its wont be for me though, cos I cant justify spending that much money to need a physio after I drive it.

perhaps a 2nd hand one in a few years time the suspension may have softened a little as the car loosens up a bit. oh well.

The Aygo dampers are quite stiff and on a poor surface you do get bounced around a lot.

If you want something with a bit more give have you thought of an old shape Yaris? £7k buys you a pretty good one and the ride is a lot more forgiving.

not really considered a Yaris, its too large to fit in where I want to park it. whereas the Aygo would make a good replacement for my seicento.

There are other small cars but it was the aygo which was my first choice.
