The chef will have to be good at fish dishes, unless we can get elk steaks.

Well, theres plenty of elks on the roads, so the one with the best "pedestrian bar" could drive in front.

IVE found our chef, and she doubles up as a tyre consultant, don,t know if she's a good cook? but sure she will manage..

Right thats our next meet sorted, Off to Norway in a search of, a Glacier + the northern lights, I wonder what Clarkson did with those giant wheels off that Hi Lux? Hoovie could have the gun holder on his Rav, Duncs wouldnt need to worry about runflats or gunk, just some lighter fluid + a box of matches

Anchs chief mechanic, Fuji translater(do you do Norwegian) Ive got a chainsaw, Roberts got a big dog if we get lost in the snow. Dave M could engineer some snow bridges, Kingo could bring some spares at a discount, Shcm navigation + electronics + Bothy could supply the booze +scare the polar bears off..

and St thicket as our local guide, Sorry if i missed anyone but all welcome, right when are we off.. :yahoo:OH sorry Chatman we might need someone very wealthy to finance it + we will let you bring your new bike..

Well as I have shares in Halifax and Lloyds TSB, I might just scrape enough together   ....Bikes been tremendous and loving the mud and tracks and a good blast down a glacier would be fun...

Alex Salmond is re-building the Hadrians Wall

Good Luck to Mr Salmond  I hope he know a good brickie and build's his wall very very high!

He'll need it to stop Scot's fleeing south in their thousands, when the English subsidy stop's abruptly and the oil and gas in the North Sea dry's up, and it is drying up! Most oil refineries in the UK are now starting trials on running South American or African heavy crudes as well as Middle Eastern ;)

A £50bn Scottish budget split between a population of 5 million, should make the pips squeak, to paraphrase Dennis Healey.

Oh and by the way Hadrian's Wall is in ENGLAND!

Link to Hadrain's Wall. ;)

Usually tend to stay out of this argument, but as a non SNP voter against independance, I'm going to

let you all have a look at this survey carried out by an english company.

Thank you Dave

I guess we will all have to see what the Scottish voters decide and then time will tell all.

But Hadrian's Wall is still in England! :P :lol:

Its the Berwick on Tweed question - is it in Scotland or England? Only a RAV4 and a photographer with a GPS unit might be able to tell by posting some photies up here? Any budding RAV4 owners around the borders? And while at it, wot about Offals Dyke? England or Wales?

But Hadrian's Wall is still in England! :P :lol:

Anyway, my brother-in-law is coming down to work in your town so I'll ask him to photo Offals Dyke. He doesn't have a RAV tho. Just a VX Vectra. Suppose I could knock up a RAV4 clothing for it!

I just read this article and actually, the way I read it, they have confirmed without meaning to that the NOTW is right

NOTW is saying (according to paper above) that "each man, woman and child is subsidied to the tune of £3,000 each"

The papers maths run like this ....

Scotland brings in £9,593 per head in tax - so Scotland pays into the nations coffers £9,593 per head

Public Spending in Scotland is £9,631 per head - so Scotland takes out of the nations coffers £9,631 per head

So so far, Scotland takes £39 per head more then it gives

But ... then the article says Scotland takes an average of £3,086 per head in benefits.

So the net difference is Scots pay £9,593, but take £12,717. So 'subsidised' by £3,124

I know nothing about this - just applying the info in that paper that is trying to refute an allegation and actually probably done the Scots a dis-service in how they presented the info :(

Not sure how much is in England and how much is in Wales!

I would say mostly in Wales

Here's a photo of the beast - shots of various parts as promised months ago.....

IMGP0032.jpg

and a side shot - not washed since before the last thrash!

IMGP0033.jpg

The wheels are DARE Diesel Drift - fitted just to please the dieselly owners! These are 6 spoke, with a 7 spoke on the spare. All 225/40x18 Fawlcon tyres.

shoe-horned in...IMGP0025.jpg showing the 3SGTE with a GT4 intercooler and a 2nd radiator up front. The alternator is re-located to make it accessible.

and a pic of the current problem - the horn keeps sounding off when turning corners and in car parks...with a noise thought to be coming from inside the steering wheel. Maybe its the brass spring-loaded contact behind as nothing found loose - not even a sixpence!

Some have rubbing contacts and some have a spiral cable. Taking the wheel off should reveal all.

Stop riding with your hand on the gear stick or you'll have it jumping out of 5th!!!

Justin thanks, I've PM'd you (and I did it before I read this thread, which explains why I was boning on about whether it was my Rav4 or my better half's)

I now know it's herself's, so the waffling PM should make sense. It was easy to put on (I had a slight aberration when I fitted the side steps, but people longer remind me about that embarrassing experience......) I even managed a glass of wine during the fitting
