Corolla Gti Ignition Problem

was driving my '91 corolla gti down the road the other day and all of a sudden the engine just died. wasnt driving it on at all and the car didn't get spluttery or anything, it just cut out.

it still turns over on the starter and ive checked for a spark and there's none. i've changed the ignition coil, the whole distributor and the igniter and checked all the connections between them and still no go. the last thing i can think of is to check the connections between the ecu and ignition components but if anyone has any other suggestions i really appriciate them

check the efi fuse in the fusebox.

if thats ok check the condition of the wires at their connections as they sonetimes break

ya checked all the fuses and checked the connections using a continuity tester and the wiring diagram from my haynes manual and everything seems to be in order unless i've missed something somewhere. i'll take another look in the morning. thanks for yer help anyway

still haven't been able to fix the problem. i've checked my ignition coil, ignitor and ecu on a friends gti and all seem to be in working order. i've also checked for voltage going to the coil and ignitor and checked all the wires between the ecu and ignition components and everything was fine except for the G-(white) wire going from the ecu to the pick up coil in the distributor housing. i thought this was the problem so i ran my own wire across it as i thought the original wire may have fatigued but there's still no spark.

i also noticed that when the Battery is running flat from trying to start it and the engine is turning over very slowly there is a spark but when i charge the Battery up it goes again

so if anyone has any ideas please let me know cause my head is wrecked from thinking about it

also if anyone knows what the dotted line in the pic below means i'd appreciate.

thanks
